Shannon Doyle and Caity Hillier

Shannon “Sugar” Doyle and Caity Hillier to join Truro broadcast for 4 race cards.

Truro Raceway is delighted to announce that they have an agreement with two prominent Ontario based commentators to join Truro’s broadcast on-site for Grand Circuit week.

Shannon “Sugar” Doyle and Caity Hillier will be part of the Truro Race Cards broadcast between Sunday, July 16th and Sunday, July 23rd.

Mr. Doyle, a native of Summerside, PEI, is the long-time Track Announcer of the Raceway at Western Fair District and contributed to some of Truro’s broadcasts last season and has a strong familiarity with both the horses and horse people of the area. He is also well known as one of the top track announcers in Harness Racing.

Ms. Hillier, a native of Hanover, Ontario, was the face of Hanover Raceway’s race day broadcast, as their On-Air Racing Analyst / Marketing Assistant the past two seasons and co-hosted broadcasts at all 5 Ontario race tracks who participated in the OLG Ontario Women’s Driving Championship in 2022.

"We’re very pleased to have Sugar and Caity commit to joining us in Truro for a very important week of racing action, with many of the top stakes events on tap that week. Sugar does an incredible job at calling races and analyzing the horses, and is a great handicapper. I had the pleasure to work with Caity at Hanover and she is a rising star in our industry. She did a great job in Hanover on-air, and I know Truro fans will enjoy her work as much as Hanover fans have. We want to do our best to make Grand Circuit week as special as we can." commented new Truro Raceway General Manager Steve Fitzsimmons.
